NPS International School offers a rather challenging and comprehensive Athletics programme spanning activities like cricket, football, basketball and badminton for both boys and girls of different age groups. Our teams have been participating in various interschool tournaments on a regular basis.
The call for selection trials this year (2012-13) for various sports representative teams saw a big response, with over 500 students attending trials. 200 of them made it to various representative teams in different age categories. New representative teams have been formed in the following sports and age categories.
Cricket
The Cricket season started with a successful tour to Bangalore in April, our U-13 team won the TISB Cup by defeating good cricket playing schools and academies like Vidyashilp Academy, Jain International School, Mac sports and The International School Bangalore.
Our teams continued to do well after their return to Singapore
U-14 team was the champions of the ACSIS U-14 tournament.
U-13 teams were runners up in the SCA tournament.
U-11 team was runners up in the Howzat tournament.
Football
Our football teams were in the limelight as well this season
U-9 boys finished runners up in the ACSIS Tournament
U-16 boys finished runners up in the ACSIS Tournament.
Basketball
This was a good season for our basketball teams as well.
U-14 Boys basketball team were the winners of the CBL Tournament, they won a closely contested finals against AISS sharks (37-34).
U-12 Girls won the AISS Basketball Carnival.
U-12 girls and boys were runners up in the ACSIS tournament.
Badminton
Our U-12 Girls badminton team playing their first tournament finished a very promising third in the ACSIS tournament.Diving
Niharika Jhingan represented the school in the Singapore Inter-School Diving Championship and got a Silver medal in Girls 1m Category B
Cross Country
28 students represented our school in the junior cross country event this season; Anshul Jhingan won a bronze medal in the U-10 category.
Shail Modi won the Silver in the Middle School Category, 14 students represented our school in this event.

Our ECA programme continues with a range of activities for all age groups. These are offered by professional partners like British Council, APSM, and Town for Kids. For more information on the various ECA programmes, please contact our ECA partners:
ECA FEES: SGD 320 (SGD 480 for creative writing) All activities are subject to minimum enrolment of 8 students Cheques for aerobics, taekwondo and sports activities should be made to: “Asia Pacific Sports Management Pte Ltd” or APSM
Cheques for ALL OTHER ECAs should be made to: “NPS International School”
Completed forms along with the cheque are to be handed over to your child’s home room teacher by 24th April 2013.
In order to better plan our ECA and bus routes, late entries will not be entertained. There will be a maximum number for many of the ECAs, so do register early so as to avoid any disappointment. We look forward to an active, event filled term.
